The Great Reset

As I was getting ready for work the other morning my husband dear sweet Alton, spoke to me in his soft voice. His voice reached right into my heart. The words were both awakening and comforting in the moment. He said, “Jesus was and is the Great Reset.” I said, “WHAT? What do you mean?” He explained to me, “The world powers want a great reset to transform the world but Jesus already did. His life was and is the great reset for the world.”

Astounded by the simplicity and the divinity of his statement, I shouted, “THAT’S MY NEW BLOG POST!” He smiled at me and I could tell he knew he unleashed yet another ‘thing’ his wife could be excited about! Yet, with all of this excitement and ideas racing through my head; the world took over.

So, that brings me to this morning. A week later. I struggled all week with anxiety about everything! From covid regulations that have me at my witts end, to worry about our business and making sure everyone who works there feels supported and has income. I stressed about kids birthdays, friends struggling with sicknesses and loved ones who have died. You name it, I worried about it this week! I could not even eat without getting sick! Now, for anyone who knows me personally… food and I do not have issues like this haha.

Then this morning, I remembered Alton’s words. Jesus is the Great Reset! I shot out of bed hours before I had to get up, and I knew I had to write about Jesus.

His death WAS and IS the Great Reset! His death gave life for all of us. (John 1:4) Not in just a symbolic way but truly the only real, tangible life we have to ever concern ourselves with. He set the stage, performed the play and closed the act with a standing ovation that has lasted over 2000 years!

from 12 to 2.5 billion

Starting out with 12 ‘followers’ we call disciples, there are now over 2.5 BILLION people that love Christ and know he is the only ‘reset‘ they need. I do not believe that in the year 2021 the worlds powers can convince 2.5 billion people that globalizing our economy will solve all of our worlds problems.

the world can distract us from Truth

All of the fighting about money, power, environment, equality or civil liberties do not point us to the truth. In fact they distract from the only truth ever proven to heal and give life. We as Christians have to remember that the day we accepted Christ as our savior he reset our path. He showed us a new way of living that doesn’t concern ourselves with worrying about sensibilities of environmentalists or whether or not we are globally equalized.

When I think about how I allowed the devil (aka the worlds issues) to overtake me this past week, I am astounded at how fast they left me when I took time to remember Jesus. His commission to me is the first and only thoughts I really need to worry about.

He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. (2Thes. 2:14)

the alternative is desperately lonely

God is in control. Period. This calms me. God has the last say about how the earth ends, not us. He is giving us the chance to know Him, follow Him while we make our way on this earth. Why you might ask? Because He knows the alternative is desperately lonely, stressful and completely void of Truth.

Believe me, one week of positioning myself to listen to the world’s lies had me filled with debilitating anxiety. But in mere seconds of talking with Jesus my anxiety left me. He is and was the Greatest Reset.

The world powers’ are struggling to find a way without God in it; I know there is no way without Him!
