Romans 11:11-12 Again I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? NOT AT ALL! Rather because of their transgressions, salvation has come to the Gentiles (non-Jews) to make Israel envious. But if their transgressions means riches (salvation) for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their full inclusion bring!
i have messed up so many times
Ok, these verses really hit home when I think of how many times I have messed up! People relate to one another based on common ground and many times I have felt that my ‘common ground’ was so far off kilter from my peers that there would be no way they would ever see Jesus through me. Being a Christian we forget that sometimes we forget that we are human and fail. These failures used to be called “back-sliding” in Christianese; yet in my mind today these moments have paved a pathway to save others.
burn up your past, not your future
When the ‘bar’ is set too high it feels unattainable to jump over it! There is nothing worse than hearing a non-believer say “I could never be a Christian because I have done way too many ‘bad’ things”. The jokes I have heard have said ” I would surely light on fire if I stepped into a church”. I can say from experience the only thing that lights up and burned away is your past transgressions!
just have that conversation
The love and acceptance of Christ is far more powerful than the hold on your past. You are a CHILD OF GOD. He created you and is waiting for you to reach out to Him, no matter how battered and bruised you are. Have a conversation from your heart with GOD and allow Him in with your heart felt plea, He will rush in like a river.
let God hold you, He loves you more than you know
You will be surprised how all of those past mistakes will bring you to tears of joy that your Heavenly Father now holds them in His hands, so you never have to hold them in your heart again! Jesus awaits a conversation with Him and God awaits His child to return to Him. No mistake is too big to be erased from God’s love.
